The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 11 by Natsu Hyuuga – Manga

The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 11 brings Maomao face-to-face with imperial secrets, an ancient shrine, and a troubling request from the Empress Dowager. Herbal medicine and palace intrigue continue in this illustrated historical mystery manga.

Synopsis contains spoilers for earlier volumes.

Summoned to accompany the Emperor on an evening visit to an ancient shrine, Maomao quickly solves the puzzle within. The shrine serves as a rite of passage for the land’s rulers, and her success reveals more about the imperial bloodline than a commoner is meant to know.

Back at the Jade Palace, Maomao hopes to stay out of her superiors’ affairs. That plan falls apart when the Empress Dowager seeks her help investigating another supposed curse, one she fears she may have cast on the infamous late Emperor herself.
