The Witches of Cambridge by Alice Hoffman – Hardcover

The Witches of Cambridge by Alice Hoffman, bestselling author of Practical Magic, begins a new series about two young women drawn into a secret society of witches at Radcliffe College in 1950s Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Ava arrives from a small town in Maine for her first year at Radcliffe. There she meets Lauren, the wild and outspoken daughter of a wealthy Cambridge family. Different as they seem, both are recruited by the Lilith Society, a secret organization of witches whose roots reach back to colonial times.

As Ava and Lauren discover their magical legacy, their growing friendship is tested by new power and love. Beyond the college, the shadow of McCarthyism threatens Cambridge’s creative and intellectual life.

Then girls from the Lilith Society begin to disappear. Ava and Lauren must confront the possibility that the witch trials of the past are not as deeply buried as they believed.
